2008 is going to be all about Alternative Vehicles at General Motors. The 2008 Yukon Hybrid is sure to make some noise among consumers that aspire to drive an alternative fuel-based vehicle, yet want to keep the functionality of their SUV. The 2008 Yukon delivers just that.

The technology in the 2008 Yukon Hybrid represents the world’s first-ever two mode SUV. The first mode under the hood provide drivers with the option of driving in electric-only mode, gas-only mode, or in a combination mode using both electric and gas. The second mode is used during Highway speeds where the gasoline engine is predominately used. The newly-patented GM power plant automatically shifts to the electric motor and controls when the stress level is limited on the vehicle.
