INLAND EMPIRE AUTO SHOW ANNOUNCES NEWEST FEATURES FOR 2011 EVENT – GENERAL MOTORS, TOYOTA AND CHRYSLER TO HOST RIDE & DRIVE PROGRAMS
-- New Attractions to Drive Greater Consumer and Manufacturer Interest --
ONTARIO, Calif., (July 28, 2011) - The Inland Empire Auto Show (IEAS), presented by Ontario Auto Center, one of Southern California’s premier auto shows, has announced its newest features for the August 19-21, 2011 event. Hosted at the Ontario Convention Center, show goers will not only be able to experience the latest 2011 model line vehicles in person, but they will also enjoy a variety of other activities included in the price of admission. The three day show will feature onsite test drives, culinary treats from the Inland Empire's best eateries and hands-on golf instruction by the Southern California PGA. The always-popular Kid Zone is back, giving kids of all ages the opportunity to stay entertained while Mom and Dad walk the show floor.
"As part of the 2011 auto show, we worked to identify features that consumers truly enjoy. With General Motors, Toyota and Chrysler all hosting ride and drive programs this year, consumers will get a first hand opportunity to experience their latest vehicles from behind the steering wheel," said Mike Caudill, co-owner of the Inland Empire Auto Show. "We will also have new model debuts, dozens of manufacturers represented, and more exciting attractions to make this show wall-to-wall cars and wall-to-wall excitement."
The IEAS Ride & Drive program is a great way to evaluate the latest model vehicles in a no hassle, no pressure atmosphere. Show goers will have the chance to drive their favorite GM, Toyota and Chrysler models on a designated route adjacent to the Ontario Convention Center. GM will have onsite its all-new all-electric Chevrolet Volt, Motor Trend's 2011 Car of the Year. Toyota will have its popular Prius and other new models to test drive, and Chrysler's lineup will spotlight the all-new Fiat 500. The Volt, Prius and Fiat 500 are sure to be popular test-drive choices at the show, though those interested in driving any vehicles are encouraged to sign up early in the day, as the IEAS Ride & Drive is expected to be one of the show's most attended attractions.
Coming off a huge success in 2010, Great Taste Friday returns for a “second helping” of IEAS. Held on the show's opening night, August 19, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Great Taste Friday will once again feature over 20 local eateries dishing out samples of their best delights. Last year's event featured local merchants including Flemings Prime Steakhouse, Green Mango Thai Bistro and Graber Olive House, and also national favorites California Pizza Kitchen, Starbucks Coffee and Coldstone Creamery. Individuals and families alike are encouraged to attend Great Taste Friday, not only to savor the tastes of the Inland Empire, but also to connect with other auto enthusiasts in a social environment. The event promises to be a repeat fan favorite for the 2011 IEAS weekend.
The Southern California Section of the PGA of America (SCPGA) will host an event at IEAS as well, showcasing several exciting attractions at the show's Get Out & Golf Night on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. SCPGA will hold club demonstrations, autograph-signing sessions and product giveaways. Seasoned golfers and beginners alike can also experience the latest in interactive driving ranges and putting greens staffed with PGA Professionals to provide tips and tricks at all levels of play.
Families with children may want to consider attending Family Day, Sunday August 21. While Dad checks out the latest concept cars, the kids will be busy at the Make-A-Wish® Kid Zone. A complete indoor play area with activities ranging from inflatable playrooms and face-painting to games and other activities for children of all ages, this year's Kid Zone will provide hours of entertainment for younger car fans. Family Day attendees are encouraged to stop by the Make-A-Wish booth for a free raffle ticket to win one of many great prizes from the charity.
