Coming off a two year hiatus, the all-new Inland Empire Auto Show shocked many in the auto industry as it showcased some pretty special concept cars. Making its West Coast debut, the Chevy Volt was the clear show stopper. Consumers drooled over this “Green” sports car demanding that Chevy bring it to market. No more than a week following the auto show did Chevy announce that it will be bringing this concept to market in the next few years.
Also making an impressive stop at the IE Auto Show was the Dodge Hornet. This entry level, performance-based, street rocket, captured the attention of many at the IE Auto Show with its large tuner wheels and pronounced exhaust. Dodge said it has no plans to bring this car to market, but after hearing consumer’s feedback, who knows…this car might very well make it to market.
New to the Inland Empire Auto Show is the Sportsmobile Sprinter 4x4 Concept. This “go anywhere” van combines the best in versatility with miles per gallon. The Sportsmobile comes complete with a convection microwave, refrigerator and enough room to sleep three comfortably. A full surround sound DVD system also highlights this vehicle. The big news, however, is the 4x4 system on this van. It’s literally the own one of its kind in North America and Sportsmobile hopes that Dodge will bring a 4x4 to market in the near future.
Also making its rounds at the IE Auto Show were the Chevy Camaro and Chrysler Imperial Concepts. The Camaro has been slated for a consumer launch in 2009, but Chrysler recently announced that the Imperial will not be built. The Camaro’s retro look and aggressive stance will surely make this car one of the most anticipated and requested cars in 2009.
